I was off from work this week and had a bit of time to work on a story, except I found myself freewriting for a moment because I was lost in thoughts that have nothing to do with the Gilded Age, the Hudson Valley, fictional characters, or romance. Mother’s Day is this weekend, and I got lost in the thoughts of my own motherhood journey. I recently entered a new phase of my life and I am still trying to process it: My youngest joined the Army and started Basic Training out in Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago. My house is now empty and insanely quiet all day, every day.

Resolutions? Nah…
Is it already that time again for that New Year, New Me drivel? I don’t mean to be disparaging, and I speak only for myself here when I say that every year I’m going to do X, Y & Z with the best of intentions and then POOF, it all washes quickly down the drain by mid-year. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know this is absolutely true.
Finding My Space
I am sitting here in the huge overstuffed chair in the corner of my living room, using my new writing nook, and I can’t stop smiling at how perfect it is.
